Hunstanton shipwreck.

Updated: 1 day ago

I will probably never get enough of this ship.

History fact about it: Initially used for carrying cargo, the SS Vina later served as a lightship tender for Trinity House, supplying and maintaining lighthouses and lightships around the UK coast. During World War II, the SS Vina was requisitioned by the Royal Navy and used as a naval target. In 1944, it was anchored off Hunstanton to be used for bombing practice by the RAF. However, before it could be salvaged, a storm caused it to break free from its moorings and it ran aground on sandbanks near the Hunstanton coast.
